{Oh Tootles!}

I showed you this last Friday and said it was on my weekends projects list...

Well I did finish it last weekend, I've just been trying to decide all week if I really like it.

I painted it blue, like this frame and clock. When my husband got home from his training on Saturday, he took one look at the frame and said "I don't like that blue. It looks old". Which I responded with "shut your face, shut it right now what do you mean it looks old, honey?" We've been together long enough that he knew better to respond with what was really on his mind when it came to my crafts, so instead he took a second look at the frame and said "On second thought, I really like it."

Whatev...

Then when my 2 year old saw it, she said "Oh pretty!" I asked if she liked it and she said "yeah! Oh tootles!" and then broke out in song... ♫ "It's the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!" ♪ ♫

Then I saw what she was talking about...

What was I thinking? Seriously...

So I tried rearranging the burlap flowers, but I still see Mickey when I look at it...just a bit more of a deranged Mickey...

I don't know why I listened to hubby on the color though...that came from the same man I had to stop from buying a blue plaid tie to match a different blue plaid shirt when we were in college. What was he thinking?

The more I look at the color, the more I love it. I originally painted the frame red. {ah, the color red...it's an addiction people...} Then I decided to paint it white and dry brush the blue over it, when I started to distress it, hints of red started to peek through...
{love}

With the burlap covered center, wrapped with twine, it's nearly perfect...

It's so easy to swap photos out and when my living room gets tired of it, it might make it's way to the craft room as a memo board...

I just don't know how I feel about that deranged Mickey Mouse starring at me in the corner and it feels like it's missing something. I thought about getting some {small} wooden letters, painting them red and adding {cherish} or {family} to the bottom left corner.

What do you think?

Don't forget today is Mega Swagbucks Friday! I've cashed out $30 in Amazon gift cards in the last two months. Haven't signed up? Clicky HERE.

Happy Friday!

I love it! I recently bought a frame similar to the one you used, at a garage sale for $1. I hve to try your idea!

And, ROFL, at the exchange between you and your hubby. Sounds like our house. :-D

It's a great color! I love it. My husband did the same thing with something I stenciled on our wall. I responded by throwing a toy at his head. Sometimes, you just gotta LIE first. It's the safest way.
