Wandering Whimsies

Where in the world did this past month go? Between vacations and the lack of energy the first trimester brings, I once again have slacked on my blogging duties on here...
If you've stuck with me this last month, I want to show you this CUTE shop I came across. I'm a sucker for just about all things Primitive, especially Primitive Fall themed items. While browsing all the fall goodies on Etsy, I came across Wandering Whimsies shop. It's now one of my favorite primitive shops! This shop is full of country primitive stitcheries, raggedies, snowmen, ornaments, saltdoughs and gingerbreads.
How cute is this little witch?

I LOVE their fabric pumpkins and star saltdoughs.

Only a few more weeks before Fall begins, I can't wait! Wandering Whimsies has other non-fall themed goodies as well, so make sure you check them out!

Who has the cutest blog background on the block??

ME!

I have been fortunate enough to meet one of the sweetest graphic designers ever through Twitter! I've been wanting a green "dotty" background and Melissa over at The Speckled Pear made this adorable one for me! Every time I've pulled my blog up this afternoon I can't help but smile. :)
Here's some example of other work she's done:

Not only are her graphics super cute, but they are super affordable! Right now she has all her One of a Kind Etsy Shop Banner and Avatar sets marked down 50% off! Check this gal's shop out. Her work is awesome and she's so nice to talk to!

Sarah Jane Studios

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! We had a busy weekend, but a nice 'somewhat' relaxing Mothers Day.

I came across Sarah Jane's etsy shop today. How cute are these prints...

I'm loving vintage inspired children's artwork right now. I'd love to get one...or two...or three to put in Payton's room. I especially love the first two! I can't believe I had never seen her shop before today! Check it out, she has a ton of sweet prints, cards, stationary, calendars and other goodies.

Hearted This Week on Etsy...

I've had fun discovering different shops on Etsy this week. There are three that I wish I had the funds to buy up every last piece in their shop.

First is Katies Kreations...her shop is like a bunch of calories free eye candy for me! She's got some of the cutest bracelets, rings, and necklaces around. She sells scrabble tile necklaces too, I think I've mentioned before that I adore scrabble tile pendants!
I also discovered Made with Clay and Love. This one's got serious talent! I practically threw a tantrum to my husband last night begging him to buy a necklace...but just like my daughter's tantrums do not work, mine didn't either. Even after my "I never buy myself goodies" speech...I'll just have to wait a bit and get it myself!!
Lastly, I've fallen in love with Cuddle Me Friends dolls! I'd buy up every doll in that shop if I could for Payton! She's received amazing feedback on her dolls! I can't wait to get one for Payton.

Friday's Featured Shop!

Well Good News! You don't have to listen to me blab about myself again!

Of course I wouldn't feature a shop I'm not excited about, so I really mean it when I say, once again, that I'm SO excited for this weeks shop!

I LOVE shops with variety and this one definitely has it! Knotsewshabby carries tote bags, shopping cart covers, scrap booking supplies, handmade cards, Blessing/Christening Outfits *takes breath* bibs, burp rags, crocheted beanies and hats, wastenot bread crumb bags and busy bags (both SO UNIQUE!) and SO much more! Talk about one talented gal! I asked the shop owner a few questions about herself and this is what she had to saY!

"My name is Becky Gurr and I live in Florence, AZ. I have 2 little girls that keep me busy, or else I'd be working on filling up my etsy shop every chance I got! I stay up late at night, or get up early in the morning to work on my stuff. Since I was a little girl I've loved creating and crafting!

I discovered etsy a few months ago, but I've only been a member for less than a month. Since I've joined it's all I think about! I love trying to create ideas no one else has thought of. I also love shopping on etsy--so much great, fun, but mostly UNIQUE stuff!

My etsy shop has one of everything in it! (well almost!!) If I get bored of sewing, I'll scrapbook or make cards, and when I'm bored with that I'll crochet or applique...and so on. And that's why my shop is very unique, but most of all "random". My goal is to get new products up every week--so customers need to constantly be checking up on my shop to see what's new!"

Check out to some of Knotsewshabby's great items below and be sure to go to her shop and snatch up some of these unique items! I'm about to!

Friday's Featured Shop

First of all! Sorry this is late in the day, my internet just didn't want to work for me this morning, it took my husband's magic touch to get it running! I try to have things ready so I just have to publish it first thing in the morning! So here goes...

This week's shop is just yummy! Earcmra sells handmade, handrolled delicious caramels made with farm-fresh butter, sea salt, and other quality ingredients. Mmm... Here is a bit about the shop's owner:

"My name is Rachelle and I live near Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm a college student with a double major in Nursing and Public Health Education. Caramel-making is my enjoyable and tasty diversion from school work! My favorite aspect is the lovely noise the caramel makes as it bubbles and cooks on the stove. I love being able to put together tasty meals to share with my friends and family, and making caramels allows me to share my passion for cooking with others too!

I found etsy about six months ago and have really enjoyed all of the fantastic items the sellers have to offer here! I have made many unique and entertaining purchases, as well as discovered some new hobbies (like letterpress printing and quilting!).

About two months ago I was browsing a recipe forum and I came across a recipe for licorice caramel. I was intrigued by it even though I had never attempted to make any sort of candy before. After lots of trial and error, I perfected the recipe and technique. This has been a happy stumbled-upon accident that turned out fantastically well!"

Rachelle is currently selling three flavors of caramel, vanilla, black licorice and pomegranate. You can buy by the 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, 1 lb, and 2 lb and she even offers 2 or 3 flavor samplers for purchase!

Here is what some customers have to say about these delicious homemade caramels:

"These are amazing! What you do with a little sugar, butter and vanilla is magical. Thank you"
"Geez these are some amazing caramels. they're buttery, sweet, and flavorful - definitely better than any you've ever had before! earcmra is a friendly, communicative & professional seller, offering the ideal etsy experience. thank you!"

"Without a doubt, these were absolutely the best homemade candy I've ever eaten and that includes my own! Unbelieveably rich and tasty!"

"MMMMMMMMMMMMMM... how many M's will they let me put here? Delicious, yummy, mmmmmmmm, tasty, I could go on and on! I will definately buy some for my dad in Texas, as soon as the weather is cooler! Yum!"

As you can see everyone LOVES these! She hasn't had a single disappointed customer! Click HERE to buy!

Friday's Featured Shop

This week's Featured shop is SUGARBERRY! Her shop is filled with unique items from jewelry to plush. And her shop name couldn't be more perfect! Her shop is filled with sweet fruit and nature inspired items, which she makes herself from clay! She is very convo friendly and accepts custom orders.

Here is a bit more about the owner behind this sweet shop:

"My name is Patrizia and I was born and currently live in Montreal. I've always been artistic but I started selling on Etsy not too long ago (beginning of May). I usually come up with the things I make as I go along by experimenting with new ideas I get from my vivid imagination. I found Etsy in a bath and beauty Forum and first got an account to buy and lurk but eventually (like I said in early may) set up a shop. I love to make unique things, things you cannot really find anywhere else and I always try to put my own spin on things I make that were inspired by something I find or see. "

Friday's Featured Shop

This weeks featured shop is a sweet one! A mother/daughter team, Pam and Katie sell hand dyed and hand painted clothing. Pam has been painting and selling art for over 15 years using acrylics on wood. Pam credits her daughter with total inspiration for starting a business, in her words "One day my daughter, Katie painted an outfit [a onesie and pair of shoes with sweetes bunny in the grass] for her daughter. I knew she had talent but was really impressed, she did such an outstanding job that I really felt she could sell her clothing...and it didn't take me long to decide to switch and become a fabric artist....and to totally support her effort also."

Pam and Katie had been doing children's clothing for nearly two years when they read about etsy and its great support of artists. It was then they decided to set up a shop and see what happens! Their shop has been open since April 2008 and features everything from shoes to shirts to pants to tote bags for both boys AND girls! Please take a look, I am sure you will find something you like!

Friday's Featured Shop

This is a bit late coming! Etsy is such a great community made up of so many talented artist. Each week I intend to feature a new etsy shop. This week I am so happy to feature Pinksniece. Her shop has been open a little more than a month, please take a look! Her mosaics are amazing!

Here is a bit more about the owner in her own words:

"My name is Charie Stephens and I'm from Columbia, Mississippi. I am a stay at home wife and mom of a 9 month baby girl, Amelia. She keeps me busy! I first started making mosaics from recycled plastic as a highschool student for my senior project. My mentor was the art teacher from Petal High School, Deanna Williamson who is also a fellow etsian (DeannaW). She helped develop the idea that I could cut up old CDs and shampoo bottles to create beautiful art. It was about 7 years ago when I made my first mosaic. It was just recently that my aunt, Jessie Williamson (jbguess), got me started in etsy. She encouraged me to start making my mosaics again."

*Just listed today is this bright mosaic trio:

Orange, Lemon and Lime for summer! This citrus trio would go great in that little space in the kitchen that needs a fresh burst of color. These three pieces are made with recycled plastic: The orange made from pill bottles, the lemon from a yellow plastic container, and the lime from a lemon juice bottle. I've given the actual slices a coat of glossy mod podge to give the final product a "juicy" appearance. These pieces are unframed on 5 x 7 inch canvas panels. $25.00 you get all three vibrant citrus mosaics!
